Covid-19 Update

Good morning friends, partners, and supporters. I want to take a moment to update you on Linden Lodge’s response to Covid-19. We are already seeing the impact on our community with schools and golf resort closures, job loss, and limited access to basic needs. The ramifications of these disruptions to our lives will have far reaching effects. At Linden Lodge we a concerned about the toll this will take on our residents’ and staffs’ mental health as they face isolation and increased stress to meet their basic needs.
We are committed to doing the best we can to serve our residents during this precarious time. Below you will find updates to our services.

Resident Support and Day Program Our facility remains open and all residents are adhering to the NC Shelter in Place order. For our residents this means no visitors, all appointments have been transitioned to virtual appointments, their weekly outings have been stopped, and all volunteer opportunities have been temporarily suspended.
All classes, groups, and activities that do not meet Social Distancing standards have been suspended until further notice. This includes our Day Program

The implementation of virtual tools and social distance adaptive measures to supplement therapies and relationships are ongoing.

Staff Support
As essential employees, our staff is dedicated to the ongoing care, attention, and additional support our residents need during this time. Their schedules have drastically been altered to mitigate as much outside exposure to the residents as possible. They have worked tirelessly to ensure our facility is at the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation. They have taken extra precautions not only at work but in their personal lives to maintain their personal health and are consistently monitoring themselves with the hopes of preventing any staff shortage.

There is a lot of fear and anxiety in the unknown. Images of empty grocery stores and shuttered businesses abound. But what I am most struck by is the compassion, generosity, and resiliency I have seen in the past few weeks. Social media is flooded with images, videos, and stories of Good work continuing, neighbors helping neighbors, and even neighbors helping strangers. We can and will get through this. It will take all of us working together. Together but separate.

If you would like additional information on how you can support Linden Lodge during this time please do not hesitate to email me directly at debholmez@gmail.com

Donations can be made right here at our website on the homepage.

Please be safe.

With gratitude,
Deb Holmes
