We are excited to start our Day Program in 2022 and appreciate your interest.  Our goal is for individuals with severe mental illness to have a safe place to meet new people, learn strategies to help cope with mental illness and enjoy activities in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Purpose: Provides a safe place to foster positive changes in the lives of those who have a severe mental health illness.

Mission: Complimenting Lives and Reinforcing Positive Life Outcomes.

Synopsis of Program: This Day Program at Linden Lodge in Aberdeen, North Carolina aims to provide a service that develops various skills and strengths to assist the individual in managing their diagnosis. This program is led by a doctorate student from Methodist University. The program will provide individuals with structured activities that help to promote socialization, self-esteem, mindfulness, and the development of various community living skills and self-management techniques to stimulate a sense of well-being.

Agenda: 3 days a week- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10-3, 15 hours a weekS

An example of what the daily schedule will look like is as follows, but will be curated based on the interests of the individuals accepted into the day program:

Tuesday 10am-3pm

9:45-10:05 Arrival, de-caffeinated coffee, small snack options available

  • 10:05-10:30 Touch base: reviewing “group rules” and group discussion on highs/lows/aspirations for everyone’s day
  • 10:30-12:00 Curriculum based learning with doctorate student
  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch – bring your own lunch
  • 12:30-3:00 Activity that will be at Linden Lodge or in the community (examples include using the on-site gym for a structured activity, painting, tie-dying, gardening, community service opportunity such as picking up trash, etc.)

Wednesday 10am-3pm

  • 9:45-10:05 Arrival, de-caffeinated coffee, small snack options available
  • 10:05-10:30 Touch base: group discussion on highs/lows/aspirations for everyone’s day
  • 10:30-12:00 Curriculum based learning with doctorate student
  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch – bring your own lunch
  • 12:30-3:00 Activity that will be at Linden Lodge or in community (examples include Using the on-site gym for a structured activity, painting, tie-Dying, gardening, community service opportunity such as picking up trash, etc.)

Thursday 10am-3pm

  • 9:45-10:05 Arrival, de-caffeinated coffee, small snack options available
  • 10:05-10:30 Touch base: group discussion on highs/lows/aspirations for everyone’s day
  • 10:30-12:00 Curriculum based learning with doctorate student
  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch – bring your own lunch
  • 12:30-3:00 Activity that will be at Linden Lodge or in community (examples include bowling, trip to the NC Zoo, Aberdeen Lake walk, movie, etc.)

Fees:

Day Camp Fee for each 3-week session: $ 100

*50% of funds will be reimbursed if individual has 100% participation rate in the program

  • Session 1: June 7-June 23
  • Session 2: July 12- July 28

Max Cap: 6

Medication:  Medication will not be administered to Day Program Clients. Day Program Clients must be medication compliant and able to self-administer their own medication.

If you are interested in applying to the Linden Lodge Day Program you will need to:

We will review all interest forms by May 27th. If we have availability, we will send you registration forms and more detailed information requesting the following:

  • A $100 check to Linden Lodge Foundation for each summer session
  • A completed registration form
  • Endorsement from a doctor’s office, therapist, or other professional
  • Confidentiality and Media Release statement signed
  • Linden Lodge Day Program Rules agreement signed by each participants
